The North East Australian Football League is excited to reveal an additional Good Friday clash between Aspley and Brisbane will be featured in the 2019 NEAFL fixture.

Following the success of Canberra and Southport’s historic first ever Good Friday clash last year at Queanbeyan – which will be retained in 2019 – the Hornets and Lions will now face off at Voxson Oval (formerly Graham Rd).

NEAFL Operations Manager, Luke Gatti, said it was a pleasing outcome for the league.

“It is pleasing to have our pioneers of Good Friday football – Canberra and Southport – once again face off next season in what we hope to be a regular feature on the NEAFL calendar every year,” he said.

“The opportunity for Aspley and Brisbane to also come together on Good Friday is an exciting element to the 2019 fixture to continue fans’ Easter weekend of football.

“We hope the match at Voxson Oval be well attended by fans and supporters following Brisbane’s AFL blockbuster against Collingwood at the Gabba on Easter Thursday.”

The full 2019 NEAFL fixture will be released on Friday, November 30.
