Each year the player who kicks the most goals in the regular season wins the Leading Goalkicker Award.
Before the competition merged into a single league in 2014, the leading goalkicker of the Northern Conference (Ray Hughson Trophy) and Eastern Conference won separate awards.
The Ray Hughson Trophy was named after Western Districts champion Ray Hughson, who headed the QAFL goalkicking on a record six occasions in the 1950s and 60s.
