📊 Statistically Speaking: Round 8

STAR PERFORMER

Redland defender Adrian Williams was heroic against the Sharks on Sunday as the Bombers fell six points short of a memorable upset. In his 100th club match, the two-time NEAFL Team of the Year member shone with an equal team-high 24 disposals, plus 12 marks and 11 rebound 50s.

RANKINGS RULER

Rising Star nominee Angus Baker is having a super season, and he put in another starring performance against NT Thunder in Darwin on Saturday night. The 20-year-old finished with 30 disposals at an incredible 90% efficiency, plus seven marks, eight inside 50s and a goal. The young half-back led the round for Champion Data ranking points with 162.

ROOKIE WATCH

Canberra small forward Rhys Pollock starred in the Top End on Saturday night to continue his great season for the Demons. The former GIANTS Academy member had 12 disposals, seven marks, four inside 50s and three goals as Canberra returned to the top six with a 28-point victory.

TRIO OF JAMES’ DO DAMAGE

Sydney trio James Rose, James Bell and James Rowbottom combined for some seriously impressive stats on the weekend against Gold Coast to spearhead victory. Between them, they racked up 95 disposals, 57 contested possessions, 28 clearances (63% of team total), and 28 tackles. Unsurprisingly, they were all named among Sydney’s best.

SMOUT LENDING A HAND

Canberra midfielder Alex Smout was in the thick of the action on Saturday night. Not only did he have a great game with 33 disposals, nine marks, six clearances, five inside 50s, four rebound 50s and a goal, but Smout had 14 unique score involvements to go with it. He led the round in this statistic, beating Sydney’s Daniel Menzel, who had 13.
